New Designs at Marimekko

I really like the new accessories collection from Marimekko. They are designed by Vivra Launo- who is the new creative director at Marimekko. I'm so happy that I found the concept store on the Upper East Side that carries them and has an online shop as well! The clutch with hand-drawn "embroidery" details is my favorite, and this suede cup key fob makes such a perfect holiday gift (it's not available online).photos: kiitosmarimekko.com, marimekko.com

Beach Bag in December is Essential

Found this beach bag on Etsy by PloylyMingzyBb' from Bangkok (the name is a little funny, wonder what it means???) I think it's perfect for city dwellers as well, I do wish that I could carry this bag to a beach right this moment! The store has lots of beautifully crafted totes with nice leather straps, I love the red of this bag, with all the black that I wear this bag will really stand out!photos: PloylyMingzyBb

My Fall Favorites

I'm into the "outdoors-woman" style this fall, instead of splurging hundreds of dollars for the designer's interpretation of the look, why not go to the original sources for a fraction of the price? I love Pendleton wool fabrics, especially their classic Glacier Park blanket with the four color stripes. But as a throw for our living room, I would go for this blue and brown plaid number. I'm also CRAZY about their line of bags, some of the patterns are a little too Southwestern but the red and olive one is subtle and looks so cozy for fall. The leather tote bag looks super cool, it's got all the details of a high-end designer tote bag but with a reasonable price tag. I dig the basket purse look, but not as extreme as Jane Birkin in the 60's, maybe these Nantucket basket purses would do, and the French market basket is a perfect alternative to a canvas tote bag! And can you believe these high-top espadrille sneakers? I MUST have them! I don't care that they are not winter shoes because they are just so perfect!

The Best Shopping Tote

I love carrying tote bags and I usually use a plain black canvas one because I have a hard time finding a good looking one. A couple weeks ago we went to MoMA shop's Destination Japan reception and saw this Roo Shopper Jellybean bag and I thought it is the perfect tote! Not only the graphic is so cool but the shape of the tote is perfect, the wider handles support the heavy content in your bag and are easy on your arm. It's made of sturdy polyester and has an outer zip pocket for your wallet or cell phone. Seems like a lot of people love this high-quality bag with a reasonable price tag, it is currently back-ordered at the MoMA online store! There are a lot more designs and styles if you go on Roo Shopper's Japanese website, I don't care for those Andy Warhol bags that are sold in the US but I heart this Campbell soup tote and the shoes shopper! Wonder if there are stores in the US that sell these bags other than MoMA?photos: moma shop, and roo shopper

5 bags I think I like

I've been trying to find the perfect everyday bag for a long time and still nothing really interests me. Today I went to Soho to look at a few bags that I saw online in person and I was disappointed, either the quality was not as expected or the bag was too heavy and bulky, who needs 20 pockets in one bag, seriously?!!! So now I'm back to square one with my search and I'm liking these 5. If you have any recommendations, PLEASE write me. The one above is Botkier Nicole Tote
