Available Now

2 Gocco prints, Toggles and Brooklyn Town, on Etsy.

Toggles is probably the funniest squirrel I have ever done, I can't help laughing every time I see him!

Brooklyn Town features some of the famous landmarks in different parts of Brooklyn, and it comes with a little guide telling you what and where these buildings are in Brooklyn.

Some of my friends are wondering what happened to CHetCH and why we haven't been updating the merchandise. Chad and I are working on the official re-launch of the shop, and we'll be selling lots of stuff from our antique shopping trip over Christmas, more exclusive arts and products made for CHetCH! So stay tuned!
Check out the website and email me if you would like to collaborate ;-)

Holiday Fun- Free Cards with Purchase!

I just released my new holiday cards and felt ornaments, you can get them on Etsy now. I am extremely happy with how they all came out, especially the Rejoice card, I should always use kraft paper! The holiday icons card is great too, the gold is crudely printed and off registered because that's what I love about vintage cards, flaws and all! I will post everything on my wonting shop next.

I am giving away a couple of free cards with each purchase of the ornaments and holiday cards (any holiday cards in my shop), while supplies last. I did some cards with a company in the UK last year and they gave me a ton of them so I might as well give them away and spread the love!

I've been working non-stop these days on a bunch of different projects, tomorrow I'll have another big announcement, so stay tuned!

Great Jewelry That I Can Afford

After posting about insanely expensive products, I need to come back to planet earth and look at things that are humanly affordable, and you can always count on Etsy for that! I think this young lady Laura Lombardi makes really interesting and wearable jewelry. Her gold-dipped quartz necklaces (top 2 pics) are a hit, I am in love with this brass fringe necklace (above) made of vintage chain and brass charms. I always joke about getting a monocle so this necklace (below) is perfect for me, just add a glass and I'm all ready to read menus at restaurants!

Wonting X Mascott

They are finally here and I can't thank Chris enough for his great job at silk screening them, the chocolate brown and warm pink just go together so beautifully, I love the opacity of silk screening, I think that is what I'll do after my Gocco supplies run out!

So, what is the poster about? I did it for a music video by Mascott, Kendall- the talented singer/songwriter contacted me to do the video and I thought, why not a poster too?! You can get it at my Etsy shop and my wonting web shop. You can also get Mascott's cd "Art Project" or download songs on her MySpace page. Check out the video at the bottom of this post.

If you live in New York, Mascott will be performing at Union Hall in Park Slope Thursday night (Nov. 13) at 10pm. I'll definitely check it out, and the poster will be available for sale there as well! What a way to plug my poster, right?!

New In Shop

I had so much fun making these prints, I went crazy with the patterns and doing multiple layers which I had to press each print 3-4 times! Needless to say I was exhausted and I could use a massage on my shoulders. I am really proud of my "YOU ROCK" print, I hope it will be as well-received as last year's "KNOCK on Wood"! Get them here (available on Nov. 12) and here.

New Stuffff

I took a little break from blogging so I could work on some new prints. Here are a couple of them that I am pretty proud of. I love the florescent pink and I can't seem to stay away from gold! They will be available for sale very soon. What's next? Some holiday cards and more prints, so stay tuned!

On My Wish List

I'm beyond tired and still have tons to do for my trip tonight, but this DIY Wooden Dolls Kit really caught my eye that I must post about it. Goose Grease sells nothing but these kits and custom wooden dolls, I bet she will sell loads of them on Etsy this holiday season.photos: goose grease

Cori Dantini

Cori was my very first cheerleader when I first opened my Etsy shop last October and I love her work. She's known for her sweet mixed media collaged artworks. Now she has a new shop that sells original acrylic paintings and prints that are more colorful and just as sweet, I love this bird one painted on wood panel.photos: cori dantini

Nice Branding

There are over a hundred thousand sellers on Etsy so in order to stand out is to make your shop look pretty with great looking banner and avatar, plus good photography. Jodii is a great example, I love the look of her shop, and some of her products are unique and nicely made. I hope she will get more attention which she deserves and would love to see more great things from her!photos: jodii.etsy.com

Good Job!

Last Saturday I stopped by Danielle's new shop "Fact and Fancy" in Brooklyn. It is a little shop on a lovely tree-lined street close to the busy Atlantic Avenue. It is THE place to find all those cool Etsy goods that you've been eyeing without all the wait! I got this stacked furniture print by Justin Richel, and I discovered Runny Bunny who makes these quirky ceramic figurines, I love the deer head lady and the retro owls, I'm so going back there for a house-warming gift this weekend! The faux bois floor that Danielle and her partner, Christine hand-painted, it's Sebastian Wrong-esque but still so fabulous. The shop has only been opened for a month and already I see a lot of potential, I would not be surprised that by Christmas this place will be jam-packed with holiday shoppers!Fact and Fancy

Stuffed!

I was checking out my market-mates on Poppytalk Handmade and discovered this super sweet silkscreen animal parade by Icebear, and I cannot believe it is only $30!!!
This is the cutest skunk I've ever seen, it's a 3 inch tall felt sculpture by Violja. Very well-made too!
This weird but cute stuffed creature by Cocoon Designs is made from a vintage plaid scarf. Check out the shop for more interesting and detailed stuffed "sculptures" made out of vintage wool sweaters and scarves.

Etsy Faves

It's been a while since I did one of these Etsy picks, and I really heart these new peeps. Studio MIKMIK is a new Etsian, I first noticed his work from my Gocco team on Flickr, it is really good and very different from most other Gocco prints I've seen, so congrats MIKMIK! Another great Etsian is Cabin + Cub, her collages are so precious, I love the vintage children's book cut outs with thick white outlines and the cute little droplets, everything is collaged on paper-backed wood veneer, and it's a steal for only $25 each! The third newish Etsian is Paige Russell, her Bad Beaver Vase is so clever and has a great shape to hold just a few tall flowers. I might have to splurge and get it. She also makes vessels in the shapes of classic American cars- a camper, a 4 by 4, an RV, and a monster truck, how funny is she?! The last one is Bird and Banner who's been getting a lot of great press, people are crazy over their greeting "cards" screen printed on vintage handkerchiefs, but my favorite is their "Sew" In Love DIY card kit. I just love anything that has a clever play with words.

More Stuff

This is a re-do of the Candy Pencils print that I posted last week, I added a border to give it a more Wonting look.

Owling Moon was a last minute print that I did for Renegade, I love the metallic silver on brown paper.

Print of the Day

If I were a candy maker I would make taffies that look like color pencils. And they would come in these flavors- blueberry, green apple, strawberry, and lemon. This print will be available at Renegade Craft Fair and my Etsy shop.

Busy Shooting

Earlier this morning I was busy shooting all the new prints, here are some of my faves. Some of them are available at my Etsy shop now, I will add more everyday for the rest of the week. And you will see all of them if you can make it to Renegade Craft Fair this Saturday and Sunday, I'm at Booth 81!

A Couple of Re-Prints

I've been so busy making prints that I haven't had the time to stock up my Etsy shop... my bad! I will add some of the new prints to my shop by tomorrow, I promise.
The original version of these 2 prints are almost sold out on Etsy, so it's the perfect time to re-print a second version for Renegade Craft Fair! I love the Gocco navy blue ink so much that I used it on both of these prints. Another thing I learned this morning about Gocco is to avoid printing on a hot and humid day (it is 93 degrees and so humid in NYC today!!!). The orange dots on the goldfish prints was a total disaster, it was bleeding like mad and was printing inconsistently, so I killed the dots and I'm so glad that the print turned out much cuter and subdued w/o that bright orange!
