If you are looking for a trip away from NYC next weekend, you should definitely go to Electric Windows. 24 street artists will converge in Beacon, NY from May 16 to May 18 to create live artwork and have their work installed on the exterior of a vacant 19th century factory building. Electric Windows draws its name from the former electric blanket factory at the foot of Mount Beacon that will act as the backdrop for the event. There will be a companion show at Open Space Gallery featuring artists from Electric Windows: Ron English, Ripo, Lady Pink, Michael De Feo, Jim Darling/Tina Andersen, Dan Funderburgh, and more. Picture above is a rendering of what the windows will look like when completed. While you're in Beacon you should also go to DIA:BEACON which is celebrating its fifth anniversary!
